Private Investigator Cost calculation is by adding the manpower allocated and the actual expenses incurred in each investigation.

Senior investigator (consultation, strategic planning, execution and reporting): $800/hour

Junior investigator (execution): $350/hour

Field work, such as surveillance, usually requires a team of 3 to 5 investigators.

Actual expenses include open database (such as land search and company registry) query charge, transportation, air ticket and hotel, and even food and beverage (if surveillance requires going in a restaurant).

What is Your Budget?

One of the key questions we need to ask is “what is your budget”. The more resource you would allocate into the project, the higher chance of closing with a project with the information you need. While bringing up this question tends to make people nervous, but that really define the scope and depth of the project.
